THE STANDARD

OWN FACILITY  ·  OUR SPEC  ·  EVERY PIECE INSPECTED

01

STEEL SPECIFICATION

Every blade starts with a defined alloy. We specify the steel — Damascus 1080/15N20, D2 tool steel, 440C stainless, or 1080 high-carbon — to our exact requirements.

02

DEDICATED FACILITY

We don't buy off a shelf. Louis Martin operates its own dedicated manufacturing facility, giving us direct control over production standards and consistency across every pattern.

03

DESIGN & PATTERN

Handle geometry, blade profile, bevel type, grind, and finish are all specified by us. Every new pattern is developed and signed off before it enters the catalog.

04

QUALITY INSPECTION

Every shipment is inspected on arrival. Edge geometry, fit, finish, and hardness are checked against spec. Anything that doesn't meet standard doesn't reach a customer.

05

CATALOG CURATION

Not every knife makes the cut. We carry what we stand behind — patterns proven over hundreds of thousands of orders, refined on real customer feedback.

06

FULFILLMENT & SUPPORT

Orders ship from East Northport, NY. We handle every inquiry, wholesale order, and return directly — across eBay, Amazon, Shopify, Facebook, Instagram, and Whatnot.

Common Questions About Louis Martin Custom Knives

What is Louis Martin Custom Knives?
Louis Martin Custom Knives is a family-run American knife brand founded in 1993 in East Northport, New York. We offer Damascus knives, hunting knives, and specialty blades across more than 25 categories — sourced from our own dedicated manufacturing facility and shipped direct to customers across all 50 states and internationally.
What types of knives does Louis Martin carry?
Our catalog includes Damascus knives, hunting knives, folding knives, chef knives, Bowie knives, tactical knives, survival knives, skinning knives, karambit knives, kukri knives, stilettos, tactical tomahawks, swords, throwing stars, and more — all produced to our specifications at our own facility.
What makes Damascus steel special?
Damascus steel is produced by the pattern-welding technique — folding and forge-welding multiple steel alloys (typically high-carbon 1080 and nickel-bearing 15N20) into a single billet with 256+ layers. The result is a blade with a unique flowing pattern, exceptional edge retention, and a toughness-to-hardness balance that modern mono-steel cannot match aesthetically.
How do I order from Louis Martin?

Yes — we ship our full range throughout all 50 US states and to more than 10 countries internationally. We have dedicated coverage pages for key states including Texas, Florida, California, New York, and more.
How long has Louis Martin been in business?
Louis Martin Custom Knives was founded in 1993 — over 30 years as an American knife brand. Three generations of the Martin family have run the business, building relationships, curating the catalog, and shipping to customers across the country and around the world.
